Staff of the Prophets – Work in Progress

firsttempleGraduate student, Caitlyn Mahoney only wanted to go home and forget school for the night.  Being questioned by police regarding the murder of her professor was nowhere in her plans.

When the investigation uncovers an encrypted email with an attachment of an ancient scroll addressed to her she becomes more involved, and a target for the killer.

Translating the parchment reveals a clue to the location of a lost artifact believed to have divine powers.

Detective Matthew Coughfield is the detective from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation assigned to the case and is charged with protecting Caitlyn.  The two, along with Professor Hodgkins of the Archeology Department, who recovered the scroll in the middle of Israel that summer, must uncover the secrets of this iconic relic and the killer’s motivation before it falls into the wrong hands.
