Natural Enemies

stonehenge

Devastating storms plague the earth.  Nightmares haunt Paul Slangear, saying he’s to blame.

With no aspirations, Paul lives a quiet life as a data entry clerk.  When his new boss pressures him into taking an unlikely promotion, he’s reluctantly relocates from Chicago, Illinois to a small town in Britain.

Life in Wanesbury is anything but simple when Paul meets a woman from his dreams.  Any hope to maintain normalcy is completely lost when she tells him he’s a descendant of a long forgotten culture able to influence the four elements.  Worse, someone is siphoning Paul’s latent talents to wreak havoc with the global weather.

A bad first day on the job takes on new meaning when Paul realizes his manager is creating the destruction.  What’s more, he plans to enslave Paul and release a storm that can obliterate the British Isles to fulfill an ancient quest for revenge.

Paul must master his influence over the elements quickly to stop this disaster.  But first, he needs to overcome his greatest obstacle, a will too weak to control the ability within him.

NATURAL ENEMIES is an urban fantasy, complete at 86,000 words.
